Christ Church Link is
a phone-based information and referral
service for persons in need of
assistance with evictions, utility
turnoffs, food, prescriptions, clothing,
jobs and other emergencies. Link
volunteers provide callers with the
names and phone numbers of organizations
that help with these problems. Nearly
9,000 callers have been aided since
1996.

Service: 9 a.m. to noon Monday to
Friday

SUCCESS
Christ Church Link
also helps coordinate this
community-wide partnership which
provides backpacks and necessary school
supplies each year to Howard County
Public School System students from
low-income families. Over 2,100 filled
packs were distributed during 2006;
approximately 8,700 since the program’s
inception in 2002.

Other Outreach
Activities
During the holidays,
Link supervises the Christmas Giving
Tree gift program for Howard County
children in need. Members of the
congregation are joined by area
businesses to help fill the holiday
dreams over 150 youngsters from
low-income families. The Salvation Army
provides the children’s names and needs;
the Sheriff’s Office delivers the gifts.

Link also supports groups that provide
year-round emergency services for
seniors, students, homeless children and
the hungry.
